Thank you for the Liebster Award!

A big thanks to Katherine from The Lesson Chef for the Liebster Award nomination! How cool!
Here are the rules-
1. Link back to the blog that nominated me.
2. Nominate 5-11 blogs with fewer than 200 followers.
3. Answer the questions posted for me by my nominator.
4. Share 11 random facts about myself.
5. Contact my nominees and let them know that I nominated them.

Here are the questions from Katherine at The Lesson Chef:

1. What is your teaching experience? How long have you been teaching? What grades have you taught?
I have been teaching for six years now. I attended SUNY Geneseo for undergrad, and went to SUNY Albany to receive my Masters in Special Ed and Literacy. I got my first job as a Literacy Specialist grade 1-5 right after grad school as a leave replacement. After that, I began my 5 years in fourth grade! I love the curriculum in fourth grade and the age is just perfect!

2. What do you find to be the hardest part of teaching?
The hardest part about teaching is probably the stress! I feel like I'm always under a lot of pressure, and it can be overwhelming sometimes. It's nice to blog and find that there are other people dealing with the same daily stresses. I'm also a teeny bit of a perfectionist, so I'm sure 90% of the pressure I feel, I place on myself!

3. Do you have a theme for your classroom decor? If so, what is it?
Yep. I have a black and white polka dot theme, with bright pinks and blues mixed in! It's cute, and I use the fabrics I bought to cover up the hideous cubbies along my back wall!

4. If you couldn't teach, what would you do?
If I wasn't a teacher...I would probably be some other profession that deals with children. Maybe a pediatric nurse? Or a nanny? It would probably be my dream job to hold babies for extended periods of time!

5. What do you do in your free time?
I am part of a book club, for pleasure, not school! I enjoy reading and chatting about the books with my friends. I also love hiking and going for long walks along the Erie Canal with my adorable dog, Lucy.

6. What is your guilty pleasure food?
Mmmm...Chipotle. Yum!

7. What is your favorite store to shop in?
I'm a Target fan. I'm that girl who walks in and gets a basket because I think that will stop me from buying everything in sight, but my arm is usually breaking and I'm carrying several other items and dragging items to the check out a half hour later.

8. Do you have a favorite sports team?
I'm a Giants fan. Although it is sometimes embarrassing to admit that.

9. What are you currently reading?
I just finished The Night Circus, and I HIGHLY recommend it! It's about a magical competition between two...well, I feel like I can't really do it justice. Just try it! I am just starting Unbroken. I am SO into it! Our book club meeting is in a week, so I need to finish!

10. What is your favorite T.V. show?
I love The Mindy Project! I just laugh and laugh and laugh. Especially this season. It is hilarious. I highly recommend it!

11. Are you married?  Do you have children?
I am unmarried, and no kiddos yet. Just my dog! Isn't she the cutest?

And now for 11 random facts about myself:
1. I have 3 younger sisters.
2. I struggle with matching colors and tend to wind up wearing black and white to school more than anything else.
3. My dog is chubby, but I still carry her upstairs when she falls asleep on the couch and it's time for bed.
4. My favorite read aloud text is Wonder by RJ Palacio.
5. I have terrible eating habits, munching on cookies for breakfast and ordering out wayyy too frequently!
6. I bought a house last year and I love doing projects around here! (Even the pinterest fails!)
7. I'm pretty short, so it's tough to buy pants that fit right, and I wind up wearing skirts or dresses practically every day to school. My kiddos are surprised on field trips when I'm wearing jeans to the country museums! Like, "Miss Caminiti, you wear JEANS?"
8. Okay, my guilty pleasure tv show is Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon Ramsey really cracks me up!
9. I'm originally from Long Island, but you wouldn't know it until I say orange (ARRRR-nge) or drawer (draw).
10. I once got pulled over by a cop for driving TOO SLOW. Yep, that's me. Grandma.
11. I love being a teacher, and I hope to continue teaching for a very long time! :)

And now for my AWESOME nominees!!! These are some blogs I've recently discovered and adore:
