And, once again, I decided to stick with a novel study theme! The Phantom Tollbooth, written by Norton Juster, is one of my favorite novels....for myself! I usually don't have many students reading at a high enough text level to really appreciate this text, but when I do, I relish it!
Anyway, if you have never read it, it is the story of Milo, who is living a rather drab and boring life, and isn't really motivated to change his life. One day, a package is delivered to his bedroom with a tollbooth. He rides a toy car through the booth and embarks on an unforgettable adventure. I love the word play throughout the text and find the writing quite clever! Here come some of my favorite quotes...
It is so crazy that you wrote about this today because I happened to look down at one of my tables and saw that one of my kiddos is reading Phatom Tollbooth. I have never read it personally, but I may have to ask him to borrow it when he is finished. Love all the quotes!

Read it immediately! You will love it! It's definitely one of those books you can read over and over again and always get more out of it. And there are even more awesome quotes than I pulled.
DeleteI've never read this book either, but after these quotes....I need to!

Do it! Geez, I hope I haven't talked it up too much, but it's one of the best books ever. Ever.
