Sometimes it's okay to stray from the plan.
That includes the LESSON plan!
Not always, because that might not be too great for your curriculum mapping.
But I think a teachable moment is okay every once in a while.
A tangent that enhances the learning experience for everyone can be beneficial.

By the way, today is my first day of school! My first day teaching second grade!!!
