A Peek at my Week

Monday:

First day of summer school! I have 9 kids and 6 of them were in my class last year. I'm excited to see them again!!!

Tuesday:

Day one teaching a workshop on read alouds at our local Teacher Resource Center. I'm excited! Today is all about chapter books.

Wednesday:

I'm teaching another workshop at our Teacher Resource Center today. This one is all about close reading!

Thursday:

Guess what I'm doing today? Yup. Teaching a workshop at our Teacher Resource Center! This one is all about math, and I teamed up with a teacher from another district, which is SO awesome because we share ideas!

Friday:

Week one of summer school and workshops under my belt! And I'm getting new glass block windows installed in my basement, which is so exciting! Dorky that I'm excited about it. But I'm still excited!

Lucy and I have been enjoying the beautiful weather and extra time I have during the summer by going on tons of walks! This is Lucy plopping down and taking a break on one of those walks.

Monday Made It

I'm in the process of switching classrooms and grade levels! Here are the pictures of my work in progress!

I have Mountain Math hanging on the file cabinet, and I will use the other side for lunch count when kiddos walk in.

I'm thinking about buying more storage ottomans for the guided reading table. They were from Big Lots, too!

Five for Friday

I was in school this week for a training on TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools). It was a lot of role playing scenarios and learning how to best address students in crisis. The workshop itself was great...but the fact that there was a heat warning for two of the three days and we were stuck in a windowless room for seven hours a day...well, that part kinda blew.

Yesterday was my very first official day of vacation! I have a week and a half before summer school starts. So, yesterday my handyman installed my over the range microwave. It looks oh so pretty!

Unfortunately, my handyman ripped up some of the linoleum while moving the stove. I worked my gorilla glue magic last night and it looks a gajillion times better! RELIEF!

The carpet in my new classroom has been shampooed...but I still need to wait until Sunday to start setting up shop. 

I. Can't. Wait.
